Tim Laumakis

Executive Vice President, Development Operations

Tim Laumakis is the Executive Vice President of Development Operations at Novare Group. Mr. Laumakis is responsible for overseeing the firm’s development process, from strategic planning and predevelopment to design, construction, and stabilization with a focus on operational excellence that delivers high-quality assets for Novare Group’s key stakeholders and financial partners. Mr. Laumakis is also an integral part of the firm’s build-to-rent platform as it relates to horizontal apartments and single-family rental developments.

Mr. Laumakis is a seasoned executive who brings more than 25 years of diverse experience in real estate, capital markets, and engineering to the Novare Group team. Mr. Laumakis originated, developed, and managed in excess of $3 billion in residential and commercial real estate assets over his career comprising more than 5,000 multifamily rental units, 3,000 single-family and townhome lots, 1,000 for-sale high-rise condominium units, $600 million in structured real estate finance transactions including HUD-221 (d) (4), incremental tax bond, build-to-suit, and sale-leaseback mandates, and $350 million in bank-owned real estate dispositions including large land tracts, residential subdivisions, and multifamily properties. Mr. Laumakis is well versed in areas ranging from property due diligence, land development, and construction management to project underwriting, structured finance, capital sourcing, portfolio management, and acquisition and disposition advisory.

Prior to joining Novare Group, Mr. Laumakis was Senior Vice President, Head of Portfolio Management, with St. Bourke, where he led a team responsible for the design, entitlement, and development of a residential land portfolio, valued at more than $700 million, for build-to-rent and for-sale projects that included apartments, single-family homes, and townhomes.

Mr. Laumakis holds a B.S. (Magna Cum Laude with honors) and M.S. in Civil Engineering from Drexel University and an MBA in Finance from The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. Additionally, Mr. Laumakis is a Licensed Professional Engineer, a Licensed Real Estate Broker (GA & NC), and a member of the Urban Land Institute (ULI), the National Multifamily Housing Council (NMHC), and the Real Estate Investment Advisory Council (REIAC – Atlanta Chapter).
