SkyHouse Raleigh To Begin Pre-leasing

Construction crews have finished top floor of 23-story high-rise

Atlanta (June 20, 2014) – Batson-Cook Construction ceremonially topped-out SkyHouse Raleigh today, meaning the structure on the 23rd floor of the 23-story, 320-unit luxury tower on the corner of Martin and Blount streets in Downtown Raleigh has been completed.

The building is expected to be delivered in early January 2015. Novare Group, Batson-Cook Development Company and Beacon Partners broke ground on the high-rise in November of 2013.

SkyHouse features residential units between one and three bedrooms with high-end finishes and floor-to-ceiling glass offering breathtaking views. The “SkyHouse” is situated on the 23rd floor and features a club room, fitness area and outdoor plazas that include a swimming pool, fireplaces, covered outdoor lounges and birds-eye views of the city. The project will be environmentally sustainable and Energy Star certified.

SkyHouse Raleigh is one of the multi-family components of the Edison project, a mixed use real estate development that will ultimately feature office, retail and residential development. SkyHouse Raleigh will be designed to minimize the impact on the environment while maximizing appeal to its residents. The building is caddie corner to Moore Square, offering its residents a campus-like setting in the heart of the city. SkyHouse Raleigh will also offer ground floor retail space, and public art.

The tower is one of 11 SkyHouse-branded luxury high-rises in the Southeastern United States, including buildings in Atlanta, Dallas, Houston, Austin, Orlando, Tampa and Charlotte. The program represents more than $700 million in new construction and has created thousands of permanent and full-time jobs while putting in-town properties on the tax digests. SkyHouse is aimed at Generation Y professionals who want to live in urban infill areas close to business centers, night life, culture and public transportation.

Architectural firm Smallwood, Reynolds, Stewart, Stewart designed the signature building. The milestone signals that the building is half-way to completion. The leasing office located in City Market at 208 Wolfe Street, directly across the street from the new development, will begin pre-leasing homes this month.
